Yesterday’s outfit
White summer dress turned autumn dress with the help of the softest cashmere sweater and bright pink tights.
Grey top, bright pink shorts, leopard print socks
Red dress, red loafers, my soft grey cardigan, best blue coat and favorite yellow bag. Love the colour combo 🙂
Here are some snapshots of the two days I spent in Uppsala last week.
New shoes! Sale and cheap Swedish money makes for double cheap shoes 😀
Sunny day at Biologiska Trädgården
Very good place for fika.
Beautiful butterflies!
Outfit pic, new denim shorts bought second hand and my favorite yellow bag.
Cosy bakery
Lots of cake!
I really like Uppsala. You earn almost nothing as a Swedish PhD compared to in Norway, but everything is cheaper there too, so it might even out in the end. Anyway, I will get a reply in a week’s time so I will try not to think about it until then.
I was thrift shopping in Oslo last week, at Uff down at Stortorget. Look at all the nice things they have 🙂
(almost) perfect tweed dress
Striped, knit dress
Leather jacket
Dots!
Dramatic 70’s dress. I ended up buying a beautiful brown coat for autumn, but I forgot to take a picture. And it was only 250 kr 😀 And then I went to H&M to find a summer dress, but it wasn’t right
So I went to look for some shoes and found wonderful colours, but not entirely the right fit.
If those orange flats had been leather, they would have been mine now…
But these I will buy (on the internet, hopefully) to use as everyday sensible shoes. Pink!
Especially when I’m indoors and the weather is bad, I put on something really colourful (not that I’m not usually clad in lots of colours). Yesterday I wore my bright pink hotpants, the yellow sweater, orange earrings and Erik’s bright blue socks (his parents’ house is quite cold).
Lighting the barbecue with a flame torch in the sun. Turned out to be a really nice evening yesterday. I even got to wear my new dress with birds on from the Orkneys, my favorite orange laquered belt and the new earrings inspired by ancient Afghan jewelry.
Today I’m writing more job applications. Woho!
This is our last night in Scotland for now. Also the first night with a clear sky and sunshine. It will be good going home, even though I will soon be going to Oslo which is not really home anymore.
We cycled only before lunch today, and after that we’ve been tourists in Kirkwall.
New dress
Dresses I didn’t buy
New yellow sweater bought on Friday, terribly pink earphones, fresh haircut. I’m also wearing a white summer skirt and my brogues (it is only 13 degrees outside).
I’m spending the day at Erik’s office writing applications. Hard work!
No, this is not really about money, but about these beauties that are on sale on Net-a-porter.
My thing for orange/red/pink is never ending and I am getting more and more into this more bulky look
And then there is my never endig love for Burberry Prosum coats. I have even bloggedabout this particular one before
Leather sleeves are such a nice touch and makes the classic trench more edgy
But I think this one would be perfect for me. Don’t you?
Mmmm, this emerald green suede coat would complete any outfit
I love the clean lines of this one.
I am glad that I have absolutely no money right now, or I would have bought myself some new coats… Some day I will earn enough to be able to spend 10 000 NOK on a coat.
Two weeks ago, when I had handed in my masters, I went a bit crazy at H&M.
It might be the sun and the lack of Erik to entertain me, but I really like this instagram business.
My new skirt and blouse (both H&M)
My mortar in real granite, a gift from SiT when I left the board in March
Wonderful flowers that love the sun just as mutch as I do
(but I get more sunburned than they do)
Dinner last night. But the beer after was good! Today I have bought wegies, so today will be better.
I finally had time for some shopping. I have been longing for a lighter jacket and a new pair of everyday shoes for a while and yesterday, in a “I hate you master thesis”-frenzy I went out and bought what I needed.
I might have pictures later, but here are the pics from the manufacturers:
First this lovely dark blue/black parka from Weekday. It is light and almost silk-like in texture and just the right length for windy, but quite warm Trondheim.
Shoes 🙂 The colour is a bit lighter and the soles are light brown, but still. Plain, man-shoes from Vagabond for not warm enough, but not cold weather. Will probably be worn until I stop wearing tights (and probably after that too).
Happy 🙂
I have this wonderful friend, Bergdis, she is from Iceland and makes the most beautiful creations. She has started a small business called Dis by Bergdis (you will find it on Facebook).
I bought two sets of her earrings before Christmas and gave one pair to my mom 🙂
She uses an old fashioned technique that was used to make tablecloths and such, but she uses it to produce the most amazing jewelry. Just look!
Yesterday we suddenly got 10 cm of snow.
The spectacular view from my window.
After wearing my brown cape for the entire winter I now desperately long for a new, long spring coat. And while I wait for more money I am using my pretty white coat. Grey wool dress, long and high black boots and thick laquered red belt with a gigantic gold buckle (found in the attic, from my grandmother).
I had a nice weekend, by the way. Pictures of homemade sushi will come.
My favorite brooch.
My pinkest tights. White oversized shirt (my dad’s), grey oversized sweater (Erik’s), dark blue skirt, white sneakers. So kind of an oversized school uniform with Ã¥ twist.
I have to admit that I’m in love with my oversized knitted blue sweater from H&M. It is not the softest, but it is in 100% wool and it cost me 200 NOK, so I am well pleased.
I have already done a ton of combinations with it. Over a skirt and shirt, over a dress to dress it down, with jeans. The only thing is that my boyfriend and me looks like twins… But I am falling deeper in love with bright colours and there will be even more coming in 2012, both spring and autumn. 🙂 Can’t wait!
